Financial Models (as of 1 November 2008)

Financial models were developed by the GP NSW NiGP Financial Model Working Party (in alphabetical order): Central Coast Division of General Practice, Dubbo/Plains Division of General Practice, Hawkesbury-Hills Division of General Practice, Hunter Rural Division of General Practice, Leichhardt General Practice, North West Slopes Division of General Practice, Northern Rivers General Practice Network and WentWest General Practice Support. Financial models should be used as a guide only.

 Nursing in General Practice Recruitment and Orientation Resource

The Recruitment and Orientation Resource is designed to assist in the recruitment and orientation of nurses into the general practice setting. The resource has been developed by AGPN utilising and building on existing resources from Divisions of General Practice. It is applicable to a national audience and will provide information and resources for the employer, all members of the general practice team, divisions of general practice and nurses new to general practice.

Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

This Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia has been developed for the nursing profession in Australia and is relevant to all nurses at all levels and areas of practice including those encompassing clinical, management, education and research domains. This Code outlines the nursing profession’s commitment to respect, promote, protect and uphold the fundamental rights of people who are both the recipients and providers of nursing and health care.

Code of Ethics for Nurses (Revised 2008)

The Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia sets the minimum standards for practice a professional person is expected to uphold both within and outside of professional domains in order to ensure the ‘good standing’ of the nursing profession.

Competency Standards for Nurses in General Practice

The Competency Standards for nurses in General Practice are the framework reflecting nursing practice in the general practice setting. The Competency Standards have been developed to align with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) national competency standards (for both Registered and Enrolled Nurses). Wound Management Competencies for Nurses Wound Management Competencies for Nurses working in General Practice

The Wound Management Competencies for Nurses in General Practice were developed as part of the Nursing in General Practice Program at General Practice NSW and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

These Competencies align and should be read in conjunction with:

  • The Competency Standards for Nurses in General Practice developed by the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. 
  • Standards for Wound Management, 1st edition, May 2002 published by the Australian Wound Management Association Inc.
