Hepatitis C

The Hunter Rural Division of General Practice have engaged in a joint Hepatitis C project with the Hunter New England Area Health Service until June 2011.  The benefit within this project to GPs is that they will be supported in the field of Hepatitis C. 
 
This position is responsible for creating partnerships and working with GPs, community stakeholders and other service providers to enhance client access to treatment and care of Hepatitis C.  A key role of the position will be to increase the appropriateness and effectiveness of Hepatitis C treatment and care services in general practices.

Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM) - is a key partner in the Australian response to HIV, hepatitis and related diseases. It works closely with government, advisory bodies, community agencies and other professional organisations. The Society conducts a broad Education Program in HIV and viral hepatitis for medical practitioners, health care providers and allied health workers and manages a program of continuing medical education in HIV and viral hepatitis.

Hepatitis NSW - is an independent, charitable, community-based membership organisation offering assistance to people affected by hepatitis C.  Hepatitis NSW provides patient resources/information and support.  It also conducts educations programs for medical practitioners, health care providers and allied health workers as well as the members of the public.

The HIV and Hepatitis C Multicultural Service (MHAHS) works to respond to HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C among people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
