IMMUNISATION
The Hunter Rural Division of General Practice's Immunisation Program aims to assist general practices to implement systems aimed at improving immunisation coverage rates.
General Practice Immunisation Incentives (GPII) scheme:
The Division is committed to assisting practices to achieve and maintain immunisation coverage rates of 90% or higher. All GPs are encouraged to register in the General Practice Immunisation Incentive (GPII) Scheme as part of the National Immunisation Program.
The GPII scheme provides financial incentives to GPs that monitor, promote and provide immunisation services to children under the age of seven years.
The overall aim of the GPII scheme is to encourage at least 90% of practices to achieve 90% proportions of full immunisation. Hunter Rural Division’s immunisation rate as of August 2008 is 92.8% which ranks us 6th in NSW and 20th Nationally.
